Oscar Grant, a teacher from 1953 to 1986 in Maplewood Schools and from 1986 to 2011 at Victory Christian School, was recognized for retiring after 58 years of service.
Grant began teaching in 1953 in the Johnston School district where he also was a coach at Maplewood High School. His goal after retiring was to participate in mission outreach. When he heard about Corinth Christian Academy, now Victory Christian School, he knew where his mission field would be.
Grant served as principal, spiritual mentor, high school science teacher and adviser for 25 years at Victory Christian.
