Mr. and Mrs. Sid Case of Cortland celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 15, 2011.
Sid and Mary were married April 15, 1961, at the Kent United Methodist Church, Kent, by the Rev. Carl T. Pierson and the Rev. Joe Brown Love.
The Cases moved to Cortland in 1962 and continue to reside there.

The couple have two sons, Brian (Kim) of Harrisburg, Pa., and Steve (Becky) of Oviedo, Fla. They also have three grandchildren.
Sid retired from Packard Electric after 31 years as an engineer and superintendent of tool rooms. He was a choir director at the Cortland United Methodist Church for 25 years and has been a private piano and instrumental teacher since retiring. Earlier in his career. he played saxophone with various area polka bands.
Mary worked as director of Christian education at the Bowling Green United Methodist Church and the Kent UM Church. She worked as a Welcome Wagon hostess, a substitute teacher, a curriculum writer and a freelance writer for various publications as well as local papers.
They are both active in Cortland Christian Church. Since 1987, the couple have owned and operated Pieces of Yesterday, an antiques business, setting up at shows in Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee. They especially enjoy their annual buying trips to New England.
Sid is also known in the area for dismantling numerous old barns and recycling the wood. Two of these barns were reconstructed together and became their home for 15 years and was featured in Country Magazine.
The couple celebrated their special year beginning this winter in Florida and are continuing on through summer with friends and relatives in various states.
