PARK VISTA PRESENTS: "From Grand Central to Union Station: A History of Railroads in the U.S.," a Road Scholar / Elderhostel Program will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in the Gathering Room at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The program is part of the Adventures in Lifelong Learning Program.

From the Golden Spike of the First Transcontinental Railroad to the modern commuter rails of today, the program will be an in-depth look into the history of the railroad and its place as a vital component in the development of America in the industrial revolution and beyond.

Cost is $37, which includes lunch following the program and free parking. All registrations are handled through Road Scholar at www.roadscholar.org or toll- free, 877-426-8056.

LOCAL 717 RETIREES: Packard Electric and Delphi Packard Local 717 Retirees will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717's Union Hall, located in Warren Commerce Park, 2950 Sferra Ave., Warren.

Members attending are asked to bring a labeled covered dish and table service.

There will be a collection of canned goods and non-perishables for St. Vincent De Paul Society.

TAX HELP: AARP Tax Aide will prepare taxes for people of any age who have earnings of less than $100,000 and who are not operating a business that maintains inventory or uses any financial systems other than cash accounting.

NUTRITION PROGRAM: The Trumbull County Nutrition Program for the Elderly is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and spouses of those 60 and older are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

The SCOPE Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help seniors in the area make lap robes and walker caddies for the Shepherd of the Valley nursing home. No sewing ability is needed, just a desire to learn. The group meets every Monday at 1 p.m.

Another area of need is the chorus. The chorus sings at Briarfield at the Ridge once a month to entertain the residents. They also perform at the center and whenever needed in the Niles community. The chorus meets every Friday at 1 p.m.
