Howland Glen School students were spending gym classes jumping not only for their health but the health of others as part of the annual Jump Rope for Heart.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Heart Association.
"The students did a wonderful job at jumping alone, jumping in groups, and at eight different jump stations,'' said Amy Nilsson, physical education teacher.

Many students are skilled at jumping rope and can do tricks too, she said.
One boy and one girl from each class at the schol were recognized for who could jump the longest. More than 290 kindergarten to second grade students took part in the fundraiser over a three-week period.
This is the fifth year Glen Primary School participated in the fundraiser. Each year students rais between $6,000 and $7,000 for the American Heart Association. Students who raised donations of $5 or more received gifts and all students who participated received a bookmark and a sticker.
"It's great to see all of the students enjoying the jumping and raising money for such a good cause," Nilsson said.
Jump Rope for Heart is one of the many programs sponsored by the American Heart Association to promote health and awareness.
