BRR FOR A CURE: The second annual BRR for a Cure Polar Bear Plunge is March 5, on the shore of Craig Beach at Lake Milton State Park, 1320 Grandview Ave., in Lake Milton.
The Polar Bear Plunge gives people of all ages the opportunity to jump or walk into a specific area of the water where the ice has been cut away and removed. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $25 per person. Proceeds will be used by the American Cancer Society in their mission to fight cancer.
EM's and other personnel from the Milton Township Fire Department will be in the water at all times to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
The actual plunge is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. To further ensure safety for everyone, only a small group of people will be permitted to jump or walk into the water at one time. All Polar Bear Plungers must register the day of the event to receive their jump number. T-Shirts will be given to all jumpers with $100 or more in donations.
Hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate and other warm refreshments will be available at the refreshment area for a minimal donation.
