The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is presenting "THE GAME OF HOPE CHARITY BASKETBALL CLASSIC" at 4 p.m. on Saturday, at Youngstown State University's Beeghly Center. The game, which raises money for chronically / terminally ill children so that they may have the experiences generally afforded other healthy children, is open to the public with tickets $6 each.

This year, newly appointed YSU President, Dr. Cynthia E. Anderson and Congressman Tim Ryan (17th District of Ohio) will match coaching strategy as head mentors of their respective teams. As in past years, both teams are comprised of local celebrities, dignitaries and media members from the area with the game set to be taped and broadcast on various cable outlets throughout Northeast Ohio on Feb. 20 (8 p.m.). Bob Hannon, CEO of the United Way of Youngstown / Mahoning Valley will once again call the play-by-play with Jim Graham, UAW Local 1112 President and Kate O'Donovan from the United Way of Youngstown / Mahoning Valley adding color commentary, while Chrissy Patrick from MIX 98.9 Morning Show will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the third year.

The Rev. George V. Murry, bishop of the Diocese of Youngstown and community activist Fr. Gregory Maturi of St. Dominic's Church in Youngstown will both preside over pre-game ceremonies.

Other activities planned include performances by the J&J Dance Depot and Howland Middle School Competition Squad; the City Printing 10-point shot; $5 for $50 half-court shot and visits from members of the 910th Airlift Reserve Stations, Ronald McDonald, Scrappy and the Phantoms mascots for all in attendance to enjoy. The event will also have its own concession stand, open during the event with part of the proceeds earmarked for the Game of Hope. To donate, visit the GOH website at: www.hopemv.org.

COMMUNITY LEGAL AID, a nonprofit law firm serving the civil legal needs of the low income community, along with members of the Trumbull County Bar Association, will be conducting a will clinic for income-eligible elderly Trumbull County residents. Attorneys will complete simple wills, power of attorney, living wills and health care power of attorney documents at no cost to the participant. Easter Seals "FLAVORS OF THE VINE" wine tasting event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 29, at Vintage Estates Wine and Beer, 7317 South Ave., Boardman. Tickets are now available. THE NILES CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT Children's Immunization Clinics scheduled for February include Feb. 2 and 16, at the health department, 34 W. State St., Niles. WARREN CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT will hold a Childhood Immunization Clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 28, at the health department, 418 Main Ave. S.W., Warren. All clinics are walk-in with no appointment. There is a $10 administration fee, Medicaid card accepted. Bring a current shot record and a parent must accompany the child.
