THE TRUMBULL RETIRED ASSOCIATION will meet for a luncheon at noon Feb. 8 at Ciminero's, 123 N. Main St., Niles. Members and their guests may send $11 to Mary Novotny, 5799 Sarah Ave. N.W., Warren, 44483 or phone 330-847-7013 for information.

The speaker will be Mike Wilson performing as President William McKinley. The group will have a special collection of canned goods for Second Harvest Food Bank.

Wilson is the administrator of the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District. He began portraying William McKinley in 1991 and has presented the 25th president to civic, church, school and historical groups as far away as Adams, Mass.

Wilson is a life member of the Friends of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial and Library located in Niles. He is also a past president of the Mahoning Valley McKinley Club.

In 1999, Wilson was filmed giving a front porch speech as part of C-Span's series on the presidents. He was also featured on public television in 2003 and has been a featured performer for the National Travel Writers Association.

Wilson has been approved by the Historical Actors Guild as the official Presidential Historical Actor for President William McKinley.

PARK VISTA RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, will host the seminar "Get the Most From Your Retirement Dollars," with tips from the experts on how to protect income and estate during retirement years.

A local panel will include James H. Sisek, president and CEO of Farmers Trust Company; Hank Bilyk, vice president of the retirement and pension division; attorney Jeffrey D. Heintz, shareholder, Manchester, Bennett, Powers and Ullman; and Debra Hagarty, gift planning director for the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation.

Time is planned for a question / answer session following the speaker's presentations.

The seminar will be held on from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Park Vista Gathering Room. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

COMMUNITY LEGAL AID, a nonprofit law firm serving the low-income community, along with members of the Trumbull County Bar Association will conduct a clinic for income-eligible elderly Trumbull County residents.

Attorneys will complete simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills and health care power of attorney documents at no cost.

The clinic will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Trumbull County One Stop, 280 N. Park Ave., Warren. Pre-registration is required by calling 800-998-9454.

PACKARD ELECTRIC AND DELPHI PACKARD LOCAL 717 RETIREES will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717's Union Hall, 2950 Sferra Ave., Warren Commerce Park, Warren. Members attending are asked to bring a labeled, covered dish and table service. There will be no main meat dish this month.

Also, membership is due this month at $5 for the year.

HOWLAND SCHOOLS RETIREES will meet at 11 a.m. Feb. 1 at Enzo's Restaurant. All retired personnel, spouses / guests are welcome to attend the monthly lunch meetings. Cost, payable at the door, is $10. Those attending are requested to bring nonperishable food items, especially canned soup, boxed macaroni and cheese or other such "comfort foods" for a collection for Beatitude House.

AARP TAX AIDE will prepare taxes for persons of any age who have earnings of less than $100,000 and who are not operating a business that maintain inventory or use any financial systems other than cash accounting.

The TRUMBULL COUNTY NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and spouses of those 60 and older are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

THE KINSMAN SENIOR CITIZEN NUTRITION SITE is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to those 60 or older or those whose spouse is 60 or older. Meals are served about noon at the Kinsman Fire Hall. Cost is $1.25 per meal, and the doors open at 10 a.m.

FOWLER-VIENNA SENIOR CITIZENS meet every Thursday at the Fowler Community Center.

The group meets from 9:30 a.m. or later to play cards and games, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and for a 50/50 raffle and meals. Special meals are served on the fourth Thursday of the month. Cost is $3 each.

All those 55 and older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.

The SCOPE Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help seniors in the area make lap robes and walker caddies for the Shepherd of the Valley nursing home. No sewing ability is needed, just a desire to learn. The group meets every Monday at 1 p.m.

Another area of need is the chorus. The chorus sings at Briarfield at the Ridge once a month to entertain the residents. They also perform at the center and whenever needed in the Niles community. The chorus meets every Friday at 1 p.m.
