On Dec. 21, Operation "Santa Paws" delivered a huge truckful of supplies to Animal Charity in Youngstown.
The annual Christmas drive spearheaded by Shepherd of the Valley-Poland, Operation Santa Paws collects items for the dogs, cats and other animals cared for by Animal Charity.
All of the five Shepherd of the Valley facilities, including Niles, were drop-off locations for donated items.
"We started Operation Santa Paws as our charitable Christmas activity when we realized that no one thinks of pets that are without a family," said Paula Blakeman, SOV-Poland Activity Director. "We had our Shepherd delivery truck filled up with items of all kinds. The response went beyond what we received last year."
This is the third year Operation Santa Paws has provided holiday cheer to Animal Charity. Donations included pet supplies, treats and toys, beds and blankets, cages and much more. Monetary donations were also collected.
