The Niles Times

The Avenue and Main / Niles Community Enhancement Group recently announced the winners of the Christmas Decorating Contest for downtown Niles businesses.

A traveling trophy was presented to the first place winner and all winning businesses were presented with certificates and gift cards. The contest is expected to become an annual event. The trophy was donated by David Holmes, owner of Hangware Trophy. Gift Cards were donated by Covelli Enterprises. Awards were presented Dec. 13 at The Avenue and Main / Niles Community Enhancement groups monthly community meeting.

According to the committee, a special award will be presented annually to the business that touches the heart of the community and keeps the spirit of Christmas. This award is memory of Charles J. Sheetz. This year's winner was Shawn Crank, owner of C.O.P.S. Driving Academy. Other winners included: C & R Service, first place; Endi Carpet Binding, second place; and Connelly's Flowers and Ciminero's Banquet Center, tied for third place.

Honorable Mentions were McKinley Memorial Library, first place; Kuhn's Hometown Vision, second place; and Totally Clips, third place.
