The American Cancer Society is offering the PATIENT NAVIGATOR PROGRAM to help to individuals who may have trouble getting a ride to and from cancer treatment; lack insurance or prescription coverage; need information about their cancer diagnosis; and a number of other individual issues. THE WARREN CITY HEALTH DEPARTMENT has influenza vaccine available for children ages 6 months to 18 years of age. The vaccine will be given at regular childhood clinics Dec. 6 and 20. The walk-in clinic hours are from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $5. Unison and CareSource are also accepted. Parents should accompany children and bring their shot record.

Adult influenza vaccine is also available by appointment. Cost of the vaccine is $20. Pneumonia vaccine is also available free of charge to those who qualify.

The Alzheimer's Association will be holding its monthly Caregiver Support Groups on the following dates:

WARREN WEST COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, 716 Tod Ave., Warren, is offering a flu clinic from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. daily. Medicaid and Medicare will be accepted. All others, $20 each. Walk-ins welcome. For information, call 330-373-0222.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will offer a flu shot clinic from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, for anyone in the community age 14 and older. The cost for the shots will depend on how many people sign up. If there are fewer than 20 people, the cost will be $29.95 or $24.99 if there are more than 20. Those with Medicare and Medicaid will be free.

Preregistration is necessary if you have insurance coverage. You can get an application at the church during office hours Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Sunday morning. All applications need to be filled out and returned to the church no later than today so they can be processed by Walgreen Pharmacy. For more information, call 330-652-5712.

THE HEALTH AT HOME PROGRAM teaches self-care using a book of instructions for more than 200 health problems. All participants receive a free copy of the book, plus instruction on how to use the book. The program will be held from 11 a.m. to noon and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley has added BABYSITTER TRAINING CLASS for ages 11 to 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Boardman location, 8381 Market St. The course fee of $50 for a handbook and CD set to take home along with official Red Cross certification. Training includes changing a diaper and feeding a baby to safe play for toddlers, choking rescues and first aid.

Early paid registration enables candidates to attend any CPR/AED and First Aid community class for free in preparation for instructor training.
