A 20-year celebration of LIVING HEALTHY THROUGH PREVENTATIVE HEALTH EDUCATION is being presented by the Mahoning Valley Cancer Coalition, Humility of Mary Health Partners, Forum Health, American Cancer Society and Youngs-town Office on Minority Health.
The celebration will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. and programs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Metroplex Conference Center, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Girard.
The purpose of the program is to promote lifestyle changes to reduce diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity and other chronic diseases in the minority community through preventative health education.
Mistress of ceremonies is Madonna Chism Pinkard. Speakers include Dr. D. Grace on lung cancer and prostate cancer, and Doris Bullock, a certified aerobics instructor. There also will be door prizes.

Effective Sept. 1, the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY'S Ohio Division and Pennsylvania Division merged to form the new American Cancer Society East Central Division.
The merger was approved by the volunteer boards of directors of both divisions. Garry Pincock, the former Pennsylvania Division CEO, will serve as CEO of the new entity.
