Offering a heartfelt thank-you to the community, Sharon Regional Health System's Hubbard Diagnostic and Specialty Center hosted a community appreciation day July 11 in the center's parking lot at 880 W. Liberty St.
The center, which opened in February, hosted approximately 300 people for the event, including 150 children. The event featured free face painting and other kids activities, music from the Hubbard Chorale, free balloons, free blood pressure screenings, St. Patrick's car raffle, food from Frankie's Main Street Cafe and free-throw shooting and putting contests.
Community members attending the event were asked to bring non-perishable food items for donating to the Hubbard Christians in Action food drive. Prizes, donated by area businesses, were raffled off, including four passes to Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora, a $25 gas card and an overnight package to Julia's Bed & Breakfast, among others.
