Images of Hubbard High School's 57-year history flashed on a projector screen in the media center June 10 and 11 as former and current students walked its hallways for the last time.
In the fall, the high school will be replaced by a new building. A new elementary and middle school will be built at the same site, with the entire campus scheduled for completion in 2012.
Voters in the district approved a 5.5-mill bond issue in November 2006 to pay for their portion of the $58 million project. The Ohio School Facilities Commission, or OSFC, is paying 68 percent of the tab.

Lorri Olson, a 1990 Hubbard graduate, said her great-aunt was Maude Reed, the namesake of the current middle school. Reed started teaching in the district in 1905 and was honored in 1955 with a celebration and a scrapbook put together by her students.
Olson had the book with her, along with newspaper clippings of the celebration and articles written when the school was named for her. Reed died in the mid-1970s and was the sister of Olson's maternal grandmother.
"I remember Auntie Maude, but I was very young when she died," Olson said.
The slide show had numerous pictures of her since Reed spent more than half a century teaching in Hubbard.
Also at the school Friday was Judy Rocco Dominic, who said she graduated in 1961, one year ahead of Superintendent Richard Buchenic.
"I was here five years because eighth-graders attended the high school at the time," she said.
Her three children also are Hubbard alumni, graduating in 1984, 1988 and 1991. Dominic's late husband, Paul, was a member of the first class that attended the school all four years before graduating in 1958. He died in 2002.
Dominic was at Friday's walk-through with Chuck Ross, a 1955 graduate who finished his high school career at the school after attending what was then Roosevelt. His children graduated in 1980 and 1983.
Dominic said her mother graduated in 1935 from the Roosevelt school, which then housed grades K-12.
Also with Dominic was Pat Ruby Lockso, a 1962 graduate of Hubbard. Dominic said she and Lockso were not really friends in school because they were a year apart, but they became friends later and have been friends for more than 40 years.
Lockso's children graduated in 1989 and 1993. Her daughter, the younger one, is now a teacher at Reed Middle School. Her late husband, Larry, graduated in 1959.
Ross said he did not like school and does not remember much about his high school years.
"I would have played sports, but I didn't want to practice. I just wanted to show up and play. Sometimes I wish I would have done it, but I have no real regrets," Ross said.
