TRUMBULL COUNTY'S AARP TAX-AIDE PROGRAM runs through April 15. The program is for free tax preparation by volunteer preparers, trained in the IRS program and administered through the AARP Foundation, a nonpartisan charitable organization, in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service. The program is for low- to middle-income taxpayers.
All taxpayers must bring a copy of their 2008 tax return, and the Social Security cards for themselves, spouses (if applicable) and all dependents. If the taxpayers did not have their previous return prepared at an AARP Tax Site, they need to bring a photo ID.
Anyone can request a copy of their 2008 tax return by calling the IRS at 800-829-1040.
