There's a new place to go for what ails ya' in the Mahoning Valley.
The Sharon Regional Health System this month opened the doors on its new and newly remodeled satellite office, a 11,500 -square-foot office in the former Nemenz/IGA food store, 880 W. Liberty St. in Hubbard.
The new office brings in SRHS specialists in cardiology, general surgery, sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. One of the more interesting features of the office is the sports medicine office which features an array of workout equipment, turf and a half-court basketball court.

The $1.7 million facility will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and houses 12 jobs, according to hospital public relations staff. Staff said opening the new office is branching out for the hospital chain, making its services more accessible for patients in that area of Trumbull County.
Cardiologist Michael Burley, while demonstrating a stress test in his new office, said the cardiology branch can see about 12 patients every half-day, which is an increase from a former satellite office.
"What we have here, the sky is the limit," he said.
Director of Marketing Ed Newmeyer said the move into Hubbard was a "fairly easy decision" for the hospital chain. The move targets patients who live in the Youngstown-Trumbull County region.
"The only other place where our patients can get this kind of care is the hospital. This is a convenient and easy drive," Newmeyer said.
Staff in the sports clinic, which will one day have banners from local sports teams hanging from the ceiling, said proximity was important in their line of work. Sports medicine doctor Keith Lustig said getting athletes immediate care is important if the player was injured in the middle of the season and doesn't want to miss any more game time.
"Three days can be critical. We're more of an immediate care sports clinic," Lustig said.
The sports facility, with the basketball court and turf, serves a purpose beyond interior decoration. Lustig said if a player suffered an injury like a torn ligament in the knee, it would be more accurate to test the player's recovery on sports turf rather than the carpet at a doctor's office.
According to a press release, the facility will also offer a number of community health education programs and free health screenings for area residents.
