Throughout the week, students at North Road Intermediate School have taken a step back in time ... all the way to the 1950s.
The fashions of today have been replaced by poodle skirts and leather jackets.
''Each year we have a theme,'' said Valerie Brown, librarian of the school's annual scholastic book fair. ''This year we're doing 'Book Fair Diner: All You Can Read.'''

Fourth graders from Howland North Road Intermediate School show off their 50s outfits during the school’s “Book Fair Diner:?All You Can Read.” The event is part of the annual Scholastic book fair.
The event lasted all week and included a Soda Jerk Day for grandparents who were invited to have lunch with their grandchildren in the cafeteria.
According to Brown, approximately 240 grandparents were expected throughout the week.
The book fair is also a chance for the students to shop for new books while helping out the library.
''This is how we raise funds for the library,'' said Brown.
The school also will have another book fair in May.
