The Junior Group of Goodwill will hold its annual two-day auction event Feb. 5 and 6 at Stambaugh Auditorium. George Roman Auctioneers will preside over the event.
The two-day event begins with a patron party from 7 to 9 p.m. Festivities include a collectible jewelry sale featuring several thousand pieces, an auction of merchant donations such as a Matthew Stafford autographed Detroit Lions football, Disney Park passes, airline tickets, a four-strand choker pearl necklace and much more. The event also includes a basket raffle, a silent auction of collectibles, a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle and a furniture preview of Saturday's auction.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served by Angenetta's catering and a cash bar will be available.
Ticket prices for the patron party are $20 per person with a $5 tax-deduction. Tickets can be purchased at the Goodwill office or at any of the seven Goodwill stores including Liberty Goodwill Store, 2747 Belmont Ave. Tickets must be purchased in advance and the deadline is Feb. 1. Tickets purchased after the deadline will be $25, if they are still available. Those who purchase a ticket for the Friday Gala get in free Feb. 6.
The event on Feb. 6 will feature the antique and collectible auction of items collected through Goodwill donations. Preview for the auction will begin at 10 a.m. with the auction starting at 11 a.m. The collectible jewelry sale will open at 10 a.m. Admission is $2 at the door. The auction will include many collectibles and antiques such as furniture, dolls, furs, various ladies antique items, glassware, vintage toys, pictures and frames, musical instruments, vintage Christmas decorations and much more. Pieces by Fenton, Roseville, Hull, McCoy and Lefton are some items that will be available as well as a large assortment of vintage Barbie and Ken dolls, military items, trains and other antiques and collectibles. Jewelry such as men's and women's watches (including pocket watches), Coro pieces, Victorian glass beads, vintage 50s and 60s jewelry, Miriam Haskel style and other pieces are to be auctioned off.
