Health courses are available in Howland

The Howland Fire and EMS Training Center, 169 Niles Cortland Road, N.E., will be holding a Heartsaver First Aid course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 16 and a Healthcare Provider Course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 23.

The Heartsaver First Aid class will train individuals in CPR for adults, children and infants. The course also includes first-aid training and the use of an AED.

The price of the class is $85, which includes a personal protective mask. The deadline for registering for the class is Jan. 12.

The Healthcare Provider class will train individuals in CPR for adults, children and infants, the use of the AED and ventilations with use of advanced airway. This class is intended for those individuals in, or those entering into, the healthcare field.

The price of the class is $50 and includes a personal protective mask. The deadline is Jan. 20.

Anyone interested in attending either of these classes is asked to contact Ted Luman at the Howland Fire Department at 330-856-5022.
