Sutliff museum tours McKinleyás Canton sites

A One-Day Bus Tour to four William McKinley sites in Canton will be offered by the Sutliff Museum July 23.

The First Ladies' Gowns Exhibit will be a highlight of the tour for travelers, who also will see the Victorian home where McKinley and his wife lived during his term in Congress.

The McKinley Museum with its "Street of Shops", reproducing the town center of a typical Victorian village will be included in the tour of the McKinley Museum, which also will include the monument and tomb of this Ohio president who was born in Niles and ended up in the White House.

This is the third of the Sutliff's "Victorian Presidential Homes" series offered this spring and summer. Each trip includes a presentation of background information on the president and the Victorian era in history during the trip. The cost is $42 per person, including transportation, drivers tip, admissions, tour guides, snacks and bottled water on the bus. Lunch will be "on your own" at Bender's Restaurant. The CCS Trans motor coach will be ready for boarding at 8 a.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot, Elm Road, Warren. Return will be 5:30 p.m.

A registration form with complete information may be downloaded at www.sutliffmuseum.org, or picked up at the museum. Call 330-399-8807, Ext. 121, with any questions.
