Amy Motika, a senior at Hubbard High School, has been awarded the first $500 scholarship by the Hubbard Chorus Sponsors.
This scholarship is expected to become an annual award, going to an outstanding senior choir member with plans to major in fine arts in college. The scholarship is based on merit, dedication and superior contribution to the choral department throughout the year. Students interested in applying for the scholarship are required to compose a 500-word essay describing how the scholarship will help to achieve the dream of majoring in fine arts.
Motika is majoring in music education at Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University. She was the president of the Choral Department at Hubbard High School, a member of the "Treble Makers" Show Choir, and actively involved in extra-curricular activities.
