June will be an exciting month for youth in Howland Township with the wide variety of summer camp programs scheduled.
The program is designed to provide children ages 6 to 13 the opportunity to learn the basic skills needed to participate in a variety of different recreational activities. The camps provide fun for the children in a controlled, interactive environment while promoting individual and group skills development.
Each camp is offered for one week, from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. Parents are asked to pick children up promptly at noon. Most camps will take place at either Howland Middle School, Howland High School or Howland Township Park.
Camps are staffed by qualified teachers, coaches, students and volunteers. It is suggested that all campers bring a water bottle and a snack if needed. Each week of camp is $20 for residents and $35 for nonresidents.
The June schedule for camps is:
June 8: Fishing at Howland Township Park for ages 6 to 13. Equipment needed is a fishing pole with bobber and bait, athletic shoes and attire.
June 8: Arts and Crafts at Howland Middle School for ages 6 to 13. Equipment needed is an art box with glue, scissors and coloring supplies.
June 15: FunTastic Sports at Howland Township Park. Wear athletic shoes and attire.
June 15: Scrapbooking at Howland Middle School for ages 6 to 13. Supplies include a photo album, art box with glue, scissors and coloring supplies.
June 22: Painting and drawing at Howland Middle School for ages 6 to 13. Supplies include an art box with glue, scissors and coloring supplies.
June 22: Basketball at Howland Township Park for ages 6 to 13. Athletic shoes and attire are needed.
June 29: Wrestling at Howland High School for ages 6 to 13. Athletic shoes and attire are needed.
June 29: Bowling at Echo Lanes for ages 6 to 13. Bowling attire is needed.
June 29: Track and Field at Howland Middle School. Wear athletic shoes and attire.
