HUBBARD - Thirteen Hubbard High School choir students recently returned from the Ohio Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble Contest at Warren G. Harding High School with top ratings from judges.
Soloists Victoria Lubonovich and Jason Ensor received superior ratings, and Jennifer Jenkins, Jessica Williams and Ashley Jahoda received excellent ratings.
A women's ensemble, which included Ashley Jahoda, Emily Chaney, Jasmine Tuck, Octobriann Olverson, April Gabriel, Diamond Bledsoe, Samantha Sunday, Shalee Titus and Victoria Lubonovich, received a good rating from the judge.
More than 900 students from area high schools competed in Solo and Ensemble contest this year. The soloists and ensembles performed one piece of music, which are major works that are at the college level.
The students involved most importantly received the satisfaction of being of a very select number of students that went the extra mile.
Students receiving a superior and excellent rating will receive a medal for their efforts.
The students' participation in this event is just another example of the hard work and dedication of the Hubbard High School choir students. Their desire to improve and work together is a wonderful testament to them as individuals and as a collective choir.
