Shady Road to see crews

By JOE GORMAN Liberty Community News

LIBERTY - Construction crews will be honing in on the Shady Road area for this year and the next.

This spring work will begin on a sidewalk project from Murray Hill to the Liberty branch of the Warren Trumbull County Public Library at the corner of Shady Road and state Route 304.

Township Administrator Pat Ungaro said there will also be decorative lighting for the project, similar to lighting on nearby Fifth Avenue in Youngstown.

The project will go out for bids in early summer, and it is hoped that the work can be completed before the summer ends, Ungaro said.

Total cost of the project, which is being funded by a state grant, is $200,800. The township is responsible for $59,760 as part of their local match.

In 2010, the state Department of Transportation will also begin a bridge rehabilitation project on Shady Road that runs over Interstate 80. The expected cost for that project is around $800,000, Ungaro said.
