RANDI BAUN has been named a Certified Fund Raising Executive by CFRE International. Baun, Foundation Director for Shepherd's Foundation, the fundraising arm of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services, Inc., joins more than 5,300 professionals who hold the CFRE designation. Those granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards including five years of experience in fundraising, proven fundraising success, and a commitment to service for nonprofit organizations. Candidates must pass a rigorous written exam testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive.
CFRE recipients are awarded certification for a three-year period. To maintain the certification, recipients must work in the field and continue with professional education.
KATE DAVIS, LPN, has joined the staff of Shepherd of the Valley as the area marketing director for Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Her responsibilities include marketing and promotion for the Shepherd of the Valley Boardman and Poland communities and Home Health.
Davis comes from Southern Care Hospice and has experience with hospice, assisted living, and home health, including three years as the executive director for an assisted living community specializing in memory care. Davis is a resident of Austintown, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
