THE DESCENDANTS OF GORDON RUSSELL AND HANNAH LANE RUSSELL are holding their annual Family Reunion today at the Buhl Park, Shelter 2, in Sharon, Pa.

Gordon and Hannah were married in 1850 in Warren. They had several children and their three sons carried on their heritage.

Descendants of Warren Russell and Eva Giddings Russell, Delbert Russell and Kate Carroll Russell, or Nathan Russell and Alma Sweigert Russell are urged to attend, share old photos and stories, and have games for the younger ones. It is a covered dish affair.

STRUTHERS HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1956 are reminded to get their reservations and payments in by June 15 for the 52nd reunion and 70th birthday party to be held July 19 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Center Street in Struthers. Dress is casual and cost is $15 a person. Spouses are welcome. The catered dinner will begin at 6 p.m. and includes beverages.

Former members of the local youth group THE WARREN JUNIOR MILITARY BAND are planning an alumni picnic for all former members, their parents and children.

It is estimated that the organization, founded in 1927, has more than 3,000 alumni to date.

Sponsoring the event is the WJMB Alumni Association. Those attending are encouraged to bring any old photos or recordings.

The picnic is scheduled for 2 to 7 p.m. June 14 at Firemans Field Park, Poland. For more information, see the Web site at www.wjmbalumni.org for directions and what to bring.



THE 1953 W.G. HARDING JUNE GRADUATES will be meeting at the Foster Pavilion, near the Warren Community Amphitheatre, in Perkins Park on June 25 for their annual picnic. Price of the picnic is $12 per couple and $6 for single. A demonstration of the Warren City Police canine unit will be given following lunch. For more information, call 330-898-5592.



THE NILES MCKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1968 will have a two-day 40th reunion celebration Aug. 1 and 2.

Beginning at 1 p.m. on Aug. 1 will be a golf outing at Squaw Creek County Club in Vienna. On Aug. 2, there will be a dinner and festivities at Squaw Creek Country Club, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
