James E. Rockman 1964-2008

WARREN — James E. ‘‘Jimbo’’ Rockman, 43, of Warren passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, of a cardiac arrest at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 24, 1964, in Warren, the son of David L. and Mary Poole Rockman.

James was a 1982 graduate of Howland High School and a 1987 graduate of Northwood Institute in Midland, Mich., where he received associate degrees in computer science, automotive marketing and automotive aftermarketing, where he was on the dean’s list, alumni chairman and a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. James also attended Youngstown State University.

For the last 23 years, he was the owner of D&J Corvettes Inc., (sales and total restoration of Corvettes) of Warren, and for the last 10 years he was the business manager and designer for David L. Rockman & Associates Architects. Previously he had worked for Blue Dolphin Pools, Falls Ford Inc. and Dodge City Inc.

James enjoyed animals and had a true passion for cars, especially Corvettes.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Kim M. Meyers, whom he married Sept. 2, 2003; stepchildren Arin and Margaret Smith at home; his mother, Mary C. Rockman of Warren; his father and stepmother, David L. and Shirley Rockman of Warren; his brother, John (Patricia) Rockman; nephews Rudy and Reece of Columbus; two sisters, Susan (Cary) Mosher; nephew Aaron and niece Ashley of Columbus, and Linda (Ken) Hopsicker and nephew Cody of Littleton, Colo.; aunt Linda (Dr. Natale A.) Sicuro Palm Desert, Calf., and their children, Michael, Paul and Kris Ann; uncle Steve (Dee) Poole of Cleveland; aunt Ellen Brewer of Patriot, Ohio, and her three daughters, father- and mother-in-law Thomas (Faye) Meyers of Dayton, Ohio.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin and Agnes Rockman and George and Izetta Poole.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Frank Brainard officiating.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
