Paradise, Please contact us. I don't expect Judge Swift to do the right thing, but we do have other options. Yes, this is how the system works now, but there are honest people out there who want to change that system. There are also excellent Attorneys that will fight for the rights of us. (Can't judge all attorneys like the ones Judge Swift appoints)

ohcwby, you sound like one of the cast appointed by Judge Swift. I would never treat a family member like you do over money. It was the Setinsek Family Trust. It did not Say Judge Swift Family Trust and Cast of court appointed attorneys

There are obviously other cases of this nature which for one reason or the other are not addressed or investigated. If you are a reader with a similar story and wish to help with exposing elderly abuse of this nature you are encouraged to share your story in confidence to PO BOX 156 Cortland OH 44410.

Both my parents passed away 8 mo ago. Con artists were involved & knew how to work the system legally, so I lost my entire inheritance to strangers. That's the way the system works.

@ohcwby: This family only has 1 son whom they made Trustee to take over for them if they were incompetent. They were incompetent and were found to be that way by physicians. Let me just say that Mr. Setinsek has cared for his parents for years. He has been the only one that makes sure they have been taken care of and he still does it with his mother now, who is still living. He is the one that makes sure she has what she needs, visits regularly with her and takes her to visit relatives on the holidays. He does this because he loves his parents. When this all started his parents both were getting dementia and it was becoming unsafe for them to live on their own. Nobody should be commenting on this matter unless they know all the facts.

Pitiful example of the depth of corruption in a more than obvious incestuous county court system!

I vote for probate to give the family back the missing $500k immediately!

This trust was making money to care for the elderly couple thru wise investment till the court invaded it. It has lost thousands of $ in the courts care. Step daughter refinance for a lower interest rate, so the trust lost that interest each month. The only people making money from this trust a court appointed cast by Judge Swift. Check court records YOU will see who has invaded this trust. When $ are gone court will give Mom back to family.

This probate case started out with the safety of 2 elderly people by their son. Once the court demanded to know how much money was in the trust, they no longer cared about the elderly couple, it was all about the money. The accounting that was handed in to the court by the son was balanced. Judge Swift ordered son to pay over $8000.00 for a court investigator to do a report, that report showed no missing money, that didn't fit the plan for the court so it was ignored. I thought probate was to keep families together not pull them apart. Josh Garris (guardian and protective services) stated he has 166 guardian cases mostly handed to him be Judge Swift if not all. The trust states son can use trust funds to fight for the trust, the elderly couples wishes. Judge Swift says no, only his court appointed people have been paid from this trust. Now who is making money from the trust.

@ohcwby, that may have been how it went down in your family, but I'm an outsider and have been following this case for more than a year. The greedy one is not the family. Keep in mind this is the only son and the parents created the trust and named him successor twenty years ago - they loved and trusted him to oversee their affairs. However, Probate stepped in and kicked the son off his parents trust after they discovered it was a million dollar estate. There was no evidence of any wrong doing. Instead, the judge appointed a shady crew to the case, each with their hand deep in the cookie jar. To date, there is still no evidence of wrongdoing, yet this poor family has been exploited and abused by a twisted system we call Trumbull County Probate. Keep following the case. There is sure to be a very large civil suit that follows. Because only manufactured evidence will prove Probate didn't spend the last 4 years robbing this family's trust and trust.

The article doesn't mention the $12,800 "error" that a court appointed trustee made in billing for one and a half hours work for the trust. He said he would pay it back "if" the court ordered it.

Wow. Every family has one, this family has 2 or 3 greedy kids that can't wait for their parent to pass away....SHAME ON THEM, THEY DON'T DESERVE PARENTS LIKE THESE!!! I have an aunt like that who took advantage of my mom. Because of my mom being sick for many years after she retired. I found out my grandparents had 5 bank accounts my aunt only accounted for 2 of them, and had her husbands sisters husband as the attorney for the estate. I threatened to take her to court an got an attorney and my mom wouldn't let me because it was her "sister". So she settled for 100k and my uncle was cut totally out of the will, my aunt "couldn't find" him. LOL I still don't talk to her to this day only at funerals and the last one was her husbands last March! Karma maybe.
