The ‘phony’ scandals are not phony at all

August 25, 2013

DEAR EDITOR: On July 24, the president referred to “phony scandals.” After hearing that inaccurate description, I felt compelled to respond. Phony scandals do not result in body bags....

OK sleddog, I'll accept much of what you wrote it was the 90% that I am unable to buy. It also depends on how the question is asked.

While 90% may be war weary, it's not so high a percentage that wants to do nothing. As a Republican I'm interested in hearing how that side of the isle wants to deal with Syria.

Whichever poll you go by, the majority of Americans are against US intervention in a Civil War.

And here is where the 90% figure comes from.

Americans Oppose U.S. Military Involvement in Syria Public does not expect diplomatic efforts to succeed in ending civil war by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- Sixty-eight percent of Americans say the United States should not use military action in Syria to attempt to end the civil war there if diplomatic and economic efforts fail, while 24% would favor U.S. military involvement.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll has finally found something that Americans like even less than Congress: the possibility of U.S. military intervention in Syria. Only 9 percent of respondents said that the Obama administration should intervene militarily in Syria; a RealClearPolitics poll average finds Congress has a 15 percent approval rating, making the country’s most hated political body almost twice as popular.

Nearly 80 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama should receive congressional approval before using force in Syria, but the nation is divided over the scope of any potential strike, a new NBC News poll shows.

sad that vldimir putin has more American values than a president of the US.

he basically looked at europe, the at obama and said "NO!"....and britain voted against it and obammy is scared stiff.

the weakest most untruthful president in history

britain voted against bombing syria.

obama needs more war, but 90% of americans are against it and he has turned every ally we have on the planet against us. he went on TV, said the evidence clearly showed Assad used chemical weapons, and desperately tried to make a case to bomb someone. meanwhile, our allies looked at the same evidence and have turned their back on us, the UN is claiming the rebels(alquieda and muslim brotherhood) that obama is arming and financing are the ones who used the CW, and its becoming clearer that he tried to pull a bush and has been lying to the American people so he could start a new war.

the only thing he has left is to stage an attack against us(think 9-11 or the gulf of tonkin incident)....a false flag that he can try to blame on iran or syria....something big enough to scare Americans into wanting to bomb someone. that's all he's got now. now we wait to see what city or cities he wants to destroy. hopefully he doesnt do it here.

Here you go, Mark, from the same USA Today article:

"Ninety percent of office-based physicians accept new Medicare patients, a rate similar to those who take privately insured patients, researchers found. The rate of Medicare patients who say they can find a new doctor in a timely manner is similar to those who are privately insured, the report said."

So much for private insurance being more desirable than Medicare.

What did you find out defeat??

I will not post it until you can. What was the reason? Hint, it is not Obamacare! Which hasn't been fully implemented as far as reimbursing for coverage etc.

What was the reasoning?

"The number of doctors who opted out of Medicare last year, while a small proportion of the nation's health professionals, nearly tripled from three years earlier, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the government agency that administers the program"

And this was reported 3 weeks ago.

"Some Doctors don't accept Medicare."

(The following has been all over the net in the past few days, but you'll NEVER see it on FauxNoise, or Rush, or in this "newspaper:")

August 22, 2013

The number of physicians accepting new Medicare beneficiaries increased by one-third between 2007 and 2011 and now surpasses the number of doctors accepting new patients with private insurance, according to a report from the HHS's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation.

The report was obtained ahead of publication by USA Today.

I just love how some people here can't allow anyone to disagree with President Obama without calling them "racist". Gyess what, WarrenProud, most people now realize that we are allowed to disagree with the president and that it doesn't make us a racist if we do.

The third criteria they use is infant mortality rate. Why? We rank low on this one particularly. But if you look closer it is because we count every live birth as a “live birth” from the moment the baby is delivered. Europe, Asia and S. America do not. They only count a live birth if the baby is 100% (no defects) healthy and 4 weeks out of the womb. Every baby that dies before that is not counted as being born alive. If they followed or system of counting lives births we would blow them out of the water. They can’t though! There medical system is not as advanced as ours.

Life expectancy is another factor they consider. WHY? different cultures live life differently. The more free a culture is the lower the life expectancy. We live dangerous lives in America with we have some of the highest motor vehicle accident rates or people dying during leisure activities in the world. High overdose rates, high obesity rates.

See sam this is the difference between liberal sheep, because you are sheep sam, and people like me. You saw that rating and wanted to believe it that you repeated on this blog. You couldn't even stop and think about it, because you can't think.

Cost - The ranking system heavily ways cost in rating your medical care! WHY? Not only that they don't include total healthcare spending and tax rates HA. Many of those countries have 75% tax rates and they don't attribute that to healthcare costs.

Varmint: we rank 38 in health care.. we pay for 1st place..in the old system.. time for a new system..

Wrong sam, we rank 38 by a liberal socialist rating system that takes into account many things that are not associated with the quality of healthcare.

See how stupid u r. You didn't know that did yeah, couldn't figure that out could yeah?

There is (4) criteria in the rating system you are using you bloviating idiot.

Quality of care is only (1) of them. Guess what idiot sam! We rank number 1 in quality of care.
