once and for all, and set the stage for the close relationship(with Britain) we enjoy today.

Historically, attributing "victory", has been subject to interpretation and the "invasion" of Canada failed ... initially.

But, it appears to me that the War of 1812 might have help lead to Canada's independence from Britain not many years later.

The re-enactment of the Battle of Lake Erie will occur near West Sister Island, west-northwest of Put-in-Bay.

The view from the International Peace Monument(Perry's memorial), of 16+ tall ships in harbor, will no doubt be beholding.

For those who do not know, The bicentennial of our great nations forgotten war ... the war that some historians believe was our "real", war for independence has just past last year.

This year, on Labor day weekend it is expect that 16+ "Tall Ships", from around the world will converge on Put-In-Bay and re-enact the Battle of lake Erie, in which Commodore Perry defeated the British Fleet, opening the westward expansion of America ...
