Tom, yes shame on them, but why does everybody think they should be recognized for every little thing they do. Read your bible and learn about humility and being humble. I choose to not tell people of many things I do. How about doing something for somebody and not telling anybody, give somebody something expecting nothing in return, etc...

When I got my awards in girl scouts nobody came to speak and that was in the 90's. We just had a ceremony for the families. I still have my badges it does not make the memory any less special because nobody came to speak at my award ceremony.

In all probability the National Girl Scouts organization contacted the Federal officials, It appears that someone from the local organization dropped the ball and didn't make contact with the local officials. I think the writer of this letter should have investigated that possibility before dropping peoples names as uncaring. Kind of makes a person wonder if dissapointment was the real motivater for this letter, or if the if the writer just wished to take a cheap political shot.

Did anyone even know this was going on? Were they contacted? what was their response to being invited to this event? All the blanks have to be filled in.
