Lack of demolitions in Warren is baffling

June 30, 2013

DEAR EDITOR: I am not understanding the complacency of the administration of the city of Warren. They put together funds to receive matched money for demolitions....

The city is happy to send the $500,000 back to the state, so they can keep their own $500,000 and put it towards personnel.

There's going to be another wave a retirement filings at the end of this year, and the city is going to need every penny of that $500,000 (and more) to cover padded overtime and Benefits Conversion.

The Bowers article is a prime example.

NO argument there! I live on a street where there are 8 plus houses thathave been condemed and most of them for almost 10 years yet only one was torn down recently. A house that burned and damaged a neigbors house 2 years ago stil stands on the corner or what's left of it is. So does the house it damaged. Promises have gone un-fullfilled and that really is no surprise.

Typical Warren standard operating procedure, you cry babies keep electing these morons and then wonder why the results are always the same.

Mayor Franklin is the most worthless mayor in the history of Warren. His administration has done nothing right and everything wrong from crime to tearing down abandoned houses.

Dawn, move out of Warren. It was the best decision I've ever made. What are you loyal to? A lost city that is beyond repair? Corrupt city leadership? The city is too far gone. Wrecking down 100 houses is not going to revitalize it. 200 more houses will replaces those 100 that will eventually be demolished.

I agree that the money should be used, but regardless, don't be loyal to that city. Move.
