Enrollment down = cost down!

Plus he cut the stimulus increase back to ore stimulus level, because we were in debt and didnt have the money to fund at stimulus levels!

GrannySmith, go read the local coaches opinions! Not much outrage! See the common theme is it's happening all over! Most have been or engaged in it! It's kind of an omertà with HS coaches!

The struthers guy may find himself on the outside looking in down the road! Mooney coach will be back in action!

GrannySmith, with the new divisions announced you will quit crying! Actually Harding is on the border of dropping!

What I want to know with most of these schools dropping down in divisions to declining enrollment, why are they asking for levy money all the time?

Mssmith your point in your comment I stipulated was that it was not fair that Newton Falls plays the private schools in Mahoning because of the recruiting. I simply pointed out That they never have played each other in football.

It isn't easy do you think for one second that the Ohio high school athletic association would let that happen the ohio don't you remember what happened in 2012 with the basketball ball player who's parents got divorced and he decided to move with his dad to warren they were all over that like white on rice

The reason I say you are a hypocrit is because if this was harding getting caught doing the same thing then you would be crying fowl to

Wrong! Harding does it and I have been season ticket holder for years for football! Go to several basketball games a year too! And you people shouldnt be crying about anything! The taxpayer supports many of your citizens and provided much funding for that leviathan of a school! It's a shame that parents who want good brick and mortar, augmented by good educators, whose kids strive in the classroom as well as compete on the playing fields have to dump their money down the drain on people who don't care and have no skin in the game!

Itisnteasy the last thing I will say to you is that it is your choice to send your kid to private school. If you don't like the fact you are paying more then find a public school that you like and send your kid there you are nothing but a cry baby hypocrait that needs to get over yourself

Stubenville is a perfect example of a school system that has allowed the sports program to excede the importance of its primary task, and that is to prepare our children college or to be employable. Today far to many graduates cannot begin college without taking the studies they should have had in High School. Likewise many H.S. graduates lack the educational skills for even the most basic tasks like making change or using a proper adult vocabulary.

Open enrollment does not level the playing field at all. Open enrollment only allows kids to transfer to an adjacent school district, whereas the Catholic schools can and do accept kids from all over the state. With regard to tax dollars going to Catholic schools, I have never had a problem with that because the Catholic Schools have always been serious about education. I do not support the Charter school and home school concept unless they are required to adhere to the same educational requirements as the public schools. In my view WAY too much importance is placed on a schools sports programs. Our secondary schools both public and private have fallen too far behind the educational programs of other nations.

It isnt easy yes labrea beat smaller schools but it was on a even playing field those kids who play for public schools live with in their districts it is not like champion and Lakeview went out and actively recruited players from different cities to play for them there is no kids from warren playing for Lakeview or no kids playing for lordstown from Niles

Catholic schools span many school districts within the Dioscese! Open enrollment is allowing kids to play for schools outside their district! Get over it! Just another biggot towards Catholics!

No wonder we send our kids to Catholic institutions!
