JUST PUT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH A MASSIVE CAPITAL INVESTMENT??? That would require money, which would require tax revenue base which would require jobs.

You liberals are about as smart as bricks.

There is one way that has been proven to work. It is the way that created the greatest country on earth and it has nothing to do with government programs, subsidies or stimulus or welfare. Its called capitalism.

Just wondering what organization does P J represent? Is there a group who is making a real effort to revitalize Warren, and if so, why don't we hear more about it? I mean other than the politicians.

I wonder if it would be viable for the city and county to work with the school boards to offer a "13th grade", of continuing education for new graduates with limited skills and less than stellar credentials?

Many programs operated by the county and cities' organizations could benefit with the volunteer labor force, while the new graduates can strengthen their skills-base working with various government agencies in various capacities for 2-4 weeks at a time and under watchful eyes of workers/supervisors who will ensure they learn useful skills.

Student/graduates could work at the golfcourse and the relationship would benefit both parties... this model could be used in a number of positions.

Even if the student/graduates leave the area to find jobs...fine... it's all about helping the new generation find their way and isn't this what we should be doing?

It's always good to hear new ideas and I invite you to participate in the ongoing discussion on the Warren Expressed blog about the future of Warren. That said, I echo 4reading's comment; we don't suffer so much from a shortage of ideas in Warren as we do from a shortage of people willing to stand up and work to implement them.

Sure, sounds great. I'll go get some money to contribute to these causes from my money tree in my backyard.

Some of your ideas are viable, and some are already being looked into by existing non-profits. Get involved with an existing non-profit. We could use some additional help. The mayor's plan includes a couple of your ideas. Thanks for wanting to be involved and make a difference, P.J.
