Excellent news! Keep this pos there his full term and shave his head and beard. He should have zero rights once in prison.

I was in Brooklyn NY a couple weeks ago and a LOT of people wore beards, very hipster'ish. This guy would of had a FIELD DAY cutting all those beards off.

Yes what they did was really super wrong but remember the Mid-March Tribune article, "A man who recently completed a three-year prison sentence for manslaughter was shot to death in a parking lot Thursday evening" -- Something doesn't quite add up, just saying!

This is such an excessive sentence for this crime. The victims chose to be in Mullet's cult. They knew the disciplines. I see a religious control freak, master of manipulating lives, but not a "pure evil" human being like Manson or O.J.Simpson. Just an egotistical fool. It should be taken into consideration that beards and hair grow back! And as far as emotional scaring;just being in a cult can do that. So, maybe, this ruling can be the beginning of protecting/avenging people that get trapped in various cults and ALL the cult leaders can be put behind bars for a decade or two. They do destroy lives.

The bias of the federal judge rears its ugly head. He's already kept this devout conservative Christian behind bars, often in solitary confinement, for some two years, far from his beloved family and community. Then he imposes what amounts to a death sentence on him. For what? Knowing that some members of his conservative Christian community cut someone's hair without permission! This case and cruel/unusual punishment stinks to high heaven. Free the Amish, and impeach the federal judge.

Does anyone know how the Amish church works. He was the bishop aka the head of the church you fallow him or there will be punishment dealt out. I TALKED TO SOME OF THE AMISH WHO LEFT HIS CHURCH. CUTTING THEIR BEARD AND HAIR WOULD BE LIKE BURNING YOUR BIBLE OR FLAG. THINK OF IT THIS WAY WHAT IF SOMEONE TOLD YOU BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T DO SOMETHING FOR HIM YOU HAVE TO SLEEP IN THE CHICKEN COOP AND BTW I GET TO SLEEP WITH YOUR WIFE. HE ACTUALLY BROKE AWAY FROM THE AMISH CHURCH AND CREATED HIS OWN STRICTER CULT.

These victims did not choose to be IN Mullets cult. The victims chose to LEAVE Mullets sect because he is a nutjob. Mullets son raped a little girl and when Amish shunned him for it, Mullet retaliated by creating havoc and charging into peoples homes, pinning them down and forcefully cutting their hair and beards. There is so much more to this than simply cutting beards. The Amish fear this man so much that they don't even want to speak his name. He is true evil and he hides behind the Amish faith.

maybe your right..all cult leaders have to be evil to interfere with lives..it's just that there are more heinous crimes committed with less severe sentencing so this 15 year sentence seems ridiculous. And this isn't new; all people in cults are afraid of the cult leader. So that determines the sentence? cause people are afraid of him=not right

Triumph I couldn't have said it any better myself. I found out even after they left the church and moved away from him he tried to make it where they could not join another church. They had to appeal to the higher ups. The higher ups heard the appeal and over turned what mullet did to them.

We need a task force to go around Warren collecting all the people that scar us and imprisoning them so we can live without fear. You know...like the sub-human animals of the night on N.Park and Washington.

and you are stupid enough to get into the chicken coop and give your wife away...and watch child abuse..mind control is very sinister..but these were all grown men..they should have protected their wives and children..its disgusting..and after how many years you realize its time to leave..****e on..

Our justice system really needs an awakening. Make the punishment fit the crime, that's all. Why is that so hard or too much to ask?

Imback2cu yes these were grown men but if you left your life would get threatened. This guy over used his powers as a bishop. There are people who left that are still in hiding from this guy. You should not have to ve in fear of your life if you decide to leave a church.

Triumph,,,It's just so sickening. All of it. The Mullets, of course, but your "faith" isn't showing you that something is wrong with this guy and your"faith" doesn't give you the courage to do something about it until YOUR daughter gets raped. Just watch other little girls get abused and do nothing. What kind of "faith" is that? Shameful to be afraid to say a "MANS" name and consider yourself a person of "faith". Faith, in what, might I ask, that turns men into cowards.

Cult leaders like Jim Jones, David Koresh and Charles Manson is the reason that cult leaders like Sam Mullet and his followers who did the dirty work got such a stiff sentence. Or perhaps we should just wait until Mullet and his followers start popping people off too?

I am not a weak minded individual who needs any type of organized religion or other human being to tell me what is right or wrong and how to live my life therefore, I cannot answer the question you posed to me about faith.

also, I do not think that Mullets son was sentenced at all. Until recently the Amish have dealt with their own criminals. They never reported anything to the law. That is beginning to change. Thankfully!!!

Cults are all over the United States. Worse things are happening to those who try to leave them than hair removal;some live with the constant psychological fear of cancer or of a horrible death from curses. And threats to family members.

My perception is the punishment in this case, does not fit the crime. Put a restraining order on the lunatic. Hopefully a horse he abused will get rid of him.

omg..so the rapist goes free and the lunatic barber goes to prison for 15 years because he's scary and could turn out like Manson. That is sick. Something seriously wrong with this "faith"

I think you're failing to see the big picture. If they gave him a slap on the wrist which would be what many consider fitting, he would go home and continue and his outrage would escalate until someone is seriously injured or killed. The man is unstable. He is no different than Jim Jones, David Koresh or Charles Manson. I hope that you eventually begin to see that.

no one said this religion was perfect. no one said Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims or any other religion was perfect. We persecute priests who hide behind the cloth while molesting children and we are doing the same with Same Mullet because Sam tortured and abused his religious power too.
