"In America you have a right to be stupid, if you want to be.” Secretary of State John Kerry, Feb 26, 2013

If Youngstown doesn't want to tap into valuable energy resources right under their feet, well, you know what they say about leading a horse to water.

If the water is poisoned with fracking chemicals then you don't want to make the horse drink it.

All the natural gas from the Marcellus is being sent to China and other Asian countries, because "they need it". In the meantime, our politicians are getting greased by BP and other well owners to lead the sheep off the cliff and to forget about having cheap energy. This valley has again been had by Pillars of the Community.

I think something's not right here. The COO of VEC claims they added 60 employees and that brought $30 Million in payroll, uh - that means a $500,000 annual salary for each of these employees? Come on! We're not stupid. Let's say he meant for all his employees which he said was 110, but that doesn't work either because then each employee would make an annual salary of $272,000 each. Oh wait he did say they contract out some work. Oh wait, they did aquire JL Allen, a General Contracting pipeline company based in Tuscola, Illinois. Maybe that's where all the payroll is going - subcontracted workers to a GC in Illinois. ***********vecohio****/corporate/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/JLA-News-Gazette-article.pdf

They claim all these jobs are going to come to Youngstown, however the unemployment rate in PA, where they have been drilling for some time now, is higher than the national average. Drilling will bring mostly temporary, out of state workers.

Apparently Dave Betras, the County Democratic Party Chairman hasn't heard yet that Youngstown's local reps have no authority to protect the people when it comes to oil and gas. Hmmm...what rock has he been under? The people must protect themselves.

Job killing "well" intentioned liberals. I'll bet all of the anti fracking people have great jobs and as long as they are all set, then everything will be ok.
