Billdog, happen to know a middle eastern family who runs an honest buisness, matter of fact many city cops hang around establishment because family are of good character. Personally have seen owners chase out shadey types,

Triumph, a lot of it is not a matter of not wanting to work, it's a matter of there being no decent work. And i'm not talking about the people who don't want to work I know who they are I have neighbors over here who don't. Most of these jobs are pt, maybe $10hr and no benefits. What happens is if you take that 25 hr a week job, they throw you off your medicaid or food stamp benefits because you are making too much. Of course it all depends on how many people in your family...etc. But the system is set up to make you fail. Someone may be somewhat disabled or cannot stand/sit for long periods of time and who would hire them? Companies do discriminate against older people, disabled people...etc. and if you want to work pt they will throw you off your benefits for medicaid and you won't be able to afford to buy benefits through regular insurance if you have pre-existing conditions. The whole system is sad.

I agree with family guy, get rid of the food stamp debit and go back to the commodity lines that distributed food for the truly needy.I don't want to see anyone go hungry but handy out debit cards is as smart as handy out free cell phones...

All they have to do is go undercover to any middle eastern owned store and sell their EBT card. Busted middle eastern owner almost guaranteed. The problem is they punish severely enough. Slap on the hands and told don't do it again. Right back at it the next day.

It's about time!!!!! Food Stamp fraud has been a problem for years. So has Social Security Disability! Just handing out food stamps to some people who don't even need it! My thought is, if you can go out to the bar and go dancing, you can work. You know who you are. You're disabled. Yeah, right. If Bob Wieland can run a marathon with no legs you can work with one! People like you are a part of why this country is broke.

Nice headline.

We sincerely hope that there will be some follow-through.

We also believe the fraud and abuse problem is vastly understated.

We would all be much better off if the free food "credit card" was replaced by actual free bulk food distributions for the truly needy.
