...UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECKS? seriously, UNIVERSAL. What, they want to control the universe now. lol Background checks for the Martians! Why this is even an issue is beyond me. Americans have always had the right to bear arms. When that changes, and God forbid that it does, we will be at the mercy of hoodlums and an aggressive, corrupt government that wants to take your freedoms AWAY. Even down to how you raise your child and what you eat. Enforce the death penalty; no more death row. Take away the cushy hotel style prisons and make them real prisons so as to deter criminal behavior. The thugs will always find a way to get a gun if they want one. Gun control will only hurt the citizens; it will not impact the criminals.

Bloomberg is using his vast wealth to control politicians nationwide through direct contributions ( like heavy financing of the replacement for Jesse Jackson Jr in Chicago) to a national mayor's organization where like minded candidates are given funding if they support his agenda, to foundations like the Joyce foundation in Chicago which is dedicated to global warming, cap and trade, and GUN CONTROL issues nationwide. (This is the same foundation where obama and Wm. Aires served on the board).

Bloomberg is becoming the most dangerous man in America because he is willing to use his vast wealth to control people as he sees fit - not just in NY - but all across America with gun control being just his current obsession.

Time to amend the second amendment to fit the times. Congress should decide what fire arms are allowed for civlians to own.

Pahoot: This is only the first step in eliminating our rights to protect ourselves. If the Democrats win the House of Rep in 2014--Your rights to protect yourself will be gone in a flash.. People have the 2nd Amendment, don't let them chip away at it,
