Windham outlasts McDonald for district titleMarch 9, 2013WARREN — If you’re a boy living in Windham, you drink milk and eat your vegetables, so you can grow big and strong enough to cut down the nets after a district championship game.... Showing 18 of 18 comments

I wished them luck. However....they may have played bigger schools, they just haven't played players like the one they are about to face.

As a mom of 4 kids who have all played sports I don't understand why people feel the need to be so negative if their team doesn't win. I like to win as much as the next guy/lady, but I am not a poor sport and talk smack about another team. Keep in mind that these are high school kids leaving it all on the court. We as the parents need to set the example of good sportsmanship. Luckily for me, my team won last night. However, my son was on the team the year they lost to Kennedy. I congratulated Kennedy, wished them good luck and even went to Canton to root them on along with my son.

areyouseriou I totally disagree with you. Windham's schedule does not stink. They play schools that are much bigger than they are.

Good luck Windham. Great job Bristol and McDonald. All of you be proud of your seasons. You all did great. It is something that you have to be proud of for years to come.

Definitely great season, anytime a team can cut down the nets! The debate in this case shouldn't be whether or not they should be in D IV or not because they are most definitely a small school, the question you should be raising is the public vs. private issue. That is, however, a totally different story.

Great season and great year by the Windham Bombers. As a former Bomber I am glad to see the tradition continue year after year. To all the nay Sayers out there the bombers will be prepared for St.Joes even though they should not even be in division 4.

With 2 seniors going D1 and the number 23 sophomore in the country according to ESPN or the number 27 sophomore according to Rivals I don't see any one stopping VASJ on the way to a state title.

It's going to be a rough outing against VASJ no matter who would have made it from this district!

Other than the teams Windham lost to, their schedule stunk! I guess if two teams on your schedule had winning records it's a good schedule. Disregard Mogadore because Youngstown Christian beat them in the District Semi's and the weak NAC teams of Bristol and Maplewood beat them.
Welcome to the NAC! :)

Anybody that knows anything about basketball, knows what a joke it was having Bristol ranked 3rd in the state. Good luck to Windham, that's a team with real tradition, that actually earned and deserves its ranking as district champs. They actually played a schedule against good teams, and never got any recognition.

Windham played a great game. Its been a long time since I seen such a disciplined team. McDonald played hard and showed fight all the way to the end of the game. The Windham boys had motivation this tournament. The motivation was Bristol. All they heard was Bristol this Bristol that. Windham and McDonald were clearly better teams. Bristol would have been a .500 team in Windham,s PTC league. Thank you Warren Tribune for giving Bristol the #3 ranking and giving the Windham boys motivation.
