March 4, 2013

Now that the city of Warren has taken the ‘‘one-stop’’ government center idea off the table, it might time for the owners of the former Delphi world headquarters on Dana Street to get serious about......

A great big shame on you to Delphi Corp in Troy Michigan for disposing of your arsenic contaminated laced property upon the same folks that supported your business for years.DELPHI CORP.knew the cost to demolish the buildings and clean up the property and bailed like the worthless pieces of ****they are. Corporate greed that is why the blue collar, hard worker is out of a Delphi job.Stop blaming the union and city.

Here's another property that the City needs to close down. The massage parlor on Parkman Rd was closed down....GREAT! Guess what's there now? A "rehab" facility. REALLY? A drug rehab facility that was issued a permit buy the City? A rehab facility with absolutely NO sign out front? A rehab facility that operates 24 hrs a day? REALLY!!! Where is the licensing for a facility of this type, and WHY hasn't the City checked it out?

Delphi, no, there is no plan to bring down the entire city.

In fact, up until recently, there has been NO PLAN AT ALL! And the fact that there might be a plan now depends on who you talk to.

Remember, Warren has no city planner on the payroll. The head of community development is a dance instructor/DJ who Hank Angelo put there so he had a head of CD who would follow his orders and our redevelopment company has done nothing...except for thee two times in the past decade when the Wean Foundation and Paul Clouser came to the city wanting to be downtown.

Nope. No plan. And when there is no plan, you have things like TMHA able to build seemingly wherever they want rather than fix what they have.

Just another good reason for TMHA to build their new project idea in Westlawn, NOT Parkman Rd!! That is unless we're trying to bring the entire city down, except for the almighty NE side.

"An Amazing job" cleaning up Westlawn?

Too bad the human blight that lived there spread all over the city. Yeah, Westlawn is cleaner now, but there are plenty of people who blame Westlawn's being closed for the way the central city area has fallen apart over the past fifteen years.

Did the T-100 think that all those losers and poor people were going to leave Warren when their hovels were torn down?

Well, they didn't. Oh well.

Ok editorial. Though I wonder why you are acting like this development company is actually interested in doing anything? Had O'Brien and Tanneyhill been asleep at the wheel a few years ago, this company would have stripped those buildings clean. Mayor Mike doesn't get enough credit for stopping that. Him and our much-hated (by this paper) building inspector.

The only hope for Warren in the short run is for the Gas-Boom money to make it's way into Warren.

Until money makes it's way into Warren, stores will remain closed, more houses will be condemned, more businesses will close and less chance rising crime can be checked.

About the only thing really going for Warren right now is that it IS the county seat, there is the prospect of a boom in Trumbull County and the numbers of houses being torn down could make downtown Warren a place where nice houses could be built on spacious lots.

As gas prices rise, living in a more vibrant central area could be nice.

But, we're talking years down the road, if it happens.

I still like the Warren I knew 15-30 years ago, and I think it could, with work and luck actually be better.

Are you people smoking *** laced weed? Who in their right mind would pursue such an idiotic idea. I implore anyone to take a walk in the surrounding area to first get an idea of the state of the city in this particular area.

Condo's? get the **** outta here.
