Not everybody that lives in low income housing are bad. I know of several people who are have low income housing & have never been involved in any kind of trouble whatsever. They mind their own business. So lets not put all the blame on all low income people.

The answer is jobs. People who work generally don't have time to get into trouble. Now here is the million dollar questions: Where are the jobs?? Not here.

NoJobsLeft, Interesting points. Most of who you described work full time at WalMart busting their rear ends. I'm all for making the free loaders do something, However something has to change also when you have a multi billion dollar company paying their employees peanuts while collecting corporate welfare.

It's ashame about the crimes happening to once a great city, and across the nation! What needs to be done is getting the crime focused in one area, keep saturation of WPD there, to improve the other areas. Also one of the comments made to be a good role model, and supporter for the folks that need help is crucial to deter the drugs, and crimes!

If you get a check for nothing more than having children, you should have to go to work everyday for the county. Our streets, infrastructure, parks, neighborhoods, etc... could all use some attention. If you want to make the system a way of life our gooberment should use your lack of drive for gooberment services. Go polish a fire truck, wash a police car, cut some grass, shovel a few sidewalks, help out a Fairhaven, polish a school floor, pick up the trash along the streets, monitor hallways at the school, help out at the water department, sanitary engineers, health department, etc... Stop the free ride. If most had to go do something everyday for their meager penitence, most would go get a job.

Interesting logic you present, NoJobsLeft. "Stop supporting the lazy poor, make 'em get a job". The fun pudding is in the anxious hope upstanding citizens like yourself have for this situation. It doesn't take an education past pre-algebra to.understand where we are as a collective. Create a system where for every 1 child who receives an adequate education and attainable avenue to secure employment, 7 or 8 do not. Put this recipe on repeat for 5 or so generations. Pull your platter out of the oven and describe what you see.

Religion can only pacify the pain and give believers some comfort that even though society is deteriorating they will be saved. Promoting a continuation of the war on drugs in a society founded on the independent spirit makes about as much sense. Do your part, be a good person/role model. It's all we can ask for.

Get rid of low income housing and reform welfare and you lower the crime rate. If you do not pay rent, do not pay for your cell phone and do not have to pay for healthcare then you do not need a job, which gives you plenty of time to have kids that you can't support and do drugs and commit crimes.
