Facebook didn't pay any federal or state income taxes last year and will receive a hefty tax refund, according to a recent report.

How did the social network manage to swing such a nice tax break?

Well, according to the Citizen for Tax Justice report the company benefited from the tax deductability of executive stock options, which reduced all of its income taxes by $1.03 billion in 2012.

The company also has another $2.17 billion in extra tax-option breaks to carry forward in the future, according to the report, which means Facebook gets to deduct a total of more than $3 billion in current and future taxes, according to the report.---cnbc

Yes Doc, this old system of bankrupting the hospitals has to end. Working poor need an option for real health care. The single nonworking just walking into emergency rooms every time they have bawl movement needs addressed as well as the social leaches that refuse to work with children. I have said for years that if the later had to work 40 hours a week to get what the get, they would get a job.

The health care issue isn't about those that are on the welfare roles. They will always get theirs for nothing. The issue is making it so that the working poor CAN buy their own health care.

OLDTECH: This is for people who DO Work... that's DO WORK; and are a LITTLE over the poverty level..Your not getting it the Feds want to give the States MORE money to cover these poor WORKING folks for three years (that's no state money to be used..all covered by the FEDS for 3 years then gradually over time that money to drop to 90% of their coverage by the feds).. now if the state GOV. does not want to go along with that; then the Money will be moved to other states who will use the money.. google Gov. Jan Brewer (Rep. AZ) medicaid..

What you are seeing is a lot less than MEDICADE.. people on Welfare have state cards for help..

They dont have doctors.. what doc wants to treat someone who will not pay??? Is there a FREE clinic??? could be.. I know there was a huge one in Lake county and Cleveland..

Hospitals may be required to treat you by law..that's what Obama care was intended to help relieve..

Medicaid should be for catastrophic medical care and not for people that refuse to work and pay taxes. The last couple of weeks I have sat in the emergency room watching what happens on a regular basis and it floored me. Most of the visits should have been to a Doctor or clinic.

Where is the 23.8 billion dollars going to come from? The tooth fairy? A goose that lays golden eggs? Mrs. Obama's organic garden? This may come as a surprise to this letter writer, but Ohio residents pay federal taxes too. The net effect is that we will be sending the money to Washington that will be sent back to us in the form of an expansion of a wasteful and inefficient program.

Here's a better idea. Repeal Obamacare and start from scratch to reform the health insurance system in America.

The is down the road-The money will stop in 3 years and Ohio taxpayers will be saddled with all the cost by expanding Medicaid.

What is the projected cost to Ohioans when the money is turned off? That is the question to be debated.

Medicaid expansion is good for Ohio and free for the next 3 years. Why wouldn't Ohio take such a bargain? I was glad to see Gov Kasich put it into his budget plan.
