It is dispicable that a powerful vocal minority can cause so much grief for a private organization that has done more than a century's worth of good deeds and character building.

The gay community is not gaining any support with this tactic.

In fact, gays may be making some enemies that they didn't previously have before they became so demanding.

"Think, would you want your straight 16 year old daughter to go on an overnight camping trip with a straight 30 year old leader?"

Here's an even more chilling scenerio: would you want your straight, gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender daughter to be out of town, alone, with a 25 year-old, 6-2, 195 pound body-builder teacher, with whom he/she has to share a room because of budget constraints due to the failure of multiple levies, and who may or may not be considering leaving public education to become a Jesuit or diocesan priest, but who first wants to audition for "The Young and the Restless" at their annual cattle-call in NYC?

That could make for a very sticky situation.

Put 'em on the field playing football or baseball,..even soccer. Perhaps they'd like that better themselves.

I meant to ask if you'd like your straight daughter to go on an overnight trip with a straight male leader.

I've always been in favor of equal rights for all, including gay people, but I do have a concern over this. Think, would you want your straight 16 year old daughter to go on an overnight camping trip with a straight 30 year old leader? You might have second thoughts. Similarly, would you want your straight 16 year old Scout son to go on an overnight camping trip with a gay 30 year old Scout leader? As long as rules are in place and enforced to prevent anything from happening, I guess I'm okay with it.
