No money to fix roads (or do anything else), 'cause it all goes to payroll.

This ain't exactly a secret.

It's about time considering anywhere you go in that crappy town has horrid streets that wreak havoc with your suspension and brakes.

After my stint in the military as a pavements and equipment specialist, I was shocked and appalled at the poor quality work that the city do in their efforts to "repair" the streets. Instead of fixing asphalt pot-holes the proper way (by cutting a square around the damaged part with a concrete saw and adding base-course then adding hot-mix asphalt) they simply throw some cold mix asphalt in the hole without cleaning it out first then beat it with a shovel.

Agree w/ motherof2. The sad thing is even if the pavers do a good job, the city will send out their workers to tear the roads up again for their endless utility issues. It wouldn't be a problem if they took the time to fix what they tore into properly, but they don't. I've never seen people try to pave roads and fill potholes by using the back wheels of a pickup truck instead of the proper tools to make sure the hole is filled properly, leveled, and sealed in place. I don't think they've ever even heard of an asphalt tamper or roller in Warren.

I avoid Parkman Rd if at all possible. Northwest Blvd has NEVER been done....Coit is bad again too. How about if we resurface these roads correctly so they will last longer? As far as the houses go, they will eventually demolish themselves by caving in. We have one over here on the NW side doing just that!

"The city has not put much of its own money into road resurfacing and repair," - YOU THINK!

The roads and streets are terrible, and obviously not a priority for city council or the mayor. Instead they choose to keep a bloated city employee staff of people who do nothing productive, but collect a paycheck and receive benefits.
