The King of the local Catholics has spoken!! Damage Control. He's just worried that contributions to the diocese will suffer, then the living large life style that The Bishop lives will be effected. Again, what a slap in the face to the many good Catholic people.

More bigotry from SNAPJudy's friend Schwiderski: You have a website with ACCUSED clerics--not CONVICTED, but ACCUSED--and limited to clerics, not teachers, coaches, anyone else, just clerics.

I propose we make a list of accused bigots. Schwiderski and SNAPJudy would be #1 and 2 on the list.

Question: Perhaps the Catholic church's position on women's rights to choose..has only been a cover..avoiding the real problem and that is with the male priests, who are molesting children? Solve the problem, let them marry and have their own family, so the temptation is removed..but than again, it has been said that the priesthood is a haven for gay men that cannot deal with what is perceived as a flaw in their manhood.

I don't see any issue why the diocese would contact their legal representation when somebody comes forward with molestation accusations. It'd think it would be weird if they didn't.

I'm finding it really hard why a couple of you are outraged about this.

And DHSmith, really? Blaming the victim? really?

Bishop Murray was not the Bishop at the time these horrible events occurred, but I give him credit for addressing them as he has and not backing down and blaming the past Bishops.

DHSmith, the answer to your question in this case is because one involved a Catholic institution. The anti-Catholic bias and bigotry is evident in everything SNAPJudy writes.

"Lawyers for the diocese?" she writes, like it's something horrible that the diocese contacted their lawyers. When one lawyer contacts you and says his client was molested by someone in your employ, even if it was almost 30 years ago, you contact your lawyer.

why is it that these high school kids are being treated like they were children when they were molested and they laughed about it at school. Now they are seeing money and its a different story. I wonder those in Stubenville are also high school students and they are on the other side of the issue now I dont hear anyone saying they are children. I would like to know where is the dividing line between when a student is a child and when they are an adult. The line is more jagged than and earthquake marker.

quoted bu Murry: "All allegations are immediately reported to police"

Wait a minute! So Bishop Murry has reported all allegations to law enforcemen.? Why doesn't the DA know about this.?... We urge anyone who may have knowledge or may have been harmed by any Baker or employee, clergy, teacher, etc within the Youngstown diocese, to please contact law enforcement, not the church officials. Victim's voices deserve to be heard and children deserve to be safe..!
