Warren needs to take a hard stance on crime, instead of slapping criminals on the wrist Judges need to start handing down the longest jail time possible.

Why would anyone want to visit Warren these days? The streets are not safe. Even the mayor's son is involved in the drug activity. I feel so sad for this once great city.

Going on all over the place, it's everywhere. That's NOT true. Other cities fight against it's rising problems and combat major infractions that support crime. For a city of its size Warren equals gun wielding crime like a city three times it's size. Our problems are to blame on those who are in control and doing absolutely nothing to improve the cities quality of life.

Wow. You guys need to get out a bit more. We are NOT the only area experiencing crime... and seeing as though they interviewed and released someone, there is more to this story than meets your eyes. THINK. Was this man in the neighborhood all the time for other reasons?

WarrenProud, do you live in Warren or did you ever live in Warren? If not, you obviously don't visit there, either.

There is something off about this story. This sounds like a drug deal gone bad or a set up of some sort. What sort of "friend" was he visiting? I don't believe this was random and there is definitely more than meets the eye here.

Regarding this woman being "baffled," that makes two of us. I'm baffled about what planet she lives on.

Wake up lady. Guns are everywhere. Anyone can be shot at anytime in any neighborhood and for any reason. Sadly, it's the world we've created and allow to exist.

Great comment Cincin, and WP I disagree that Warren was ever a great City, just my view?

As easy as it is to blame thugs, it's the wealthy suburbanites creeping in buying drugs also. Without addicts we get no turf wars, drug dealers or organized gangs wanting in the big money being spent.

It's simple economics, times are tough so folks without scruples earn it where they can. As long as folks with cash keep creeping into Warren looking for dope soon will emerge a thug with a business plan.

I honestly feel these folks should be free & safe to buy all the drugs they can afford. It's their money, earned and should be free to do with it as they please. Unfortunately in doing so you awaken the greed & ruthlessness in human beings creating a rivalry for the cash you spend.

My advice? Locate a mild mannered drug dealer to buy your drugs from and quit buying from street corner thugs and other addicts. They'll rob you, sell you dummies, etc...

Yeah I know that sounds ridiculous but what's more ridiculous is continuing to venture into the ghetto dealing with morons you meet on street corners or buying from other addicts who eventually attempt to rob or kill you.

Invest your time finding a decent connection who's honest & reliable. If you look hard enough you'll find the drugs you buy on 4th street actually come from your neighbor or his children down the street. Typically they only wholesale to a select few thugs who then sell to the street corner idiots who rob & shoot you eventually.

The point is, if you intend to stay safe while enjoying your drugs the time has come to be a smarter addict. Quitting would be best but if not at least be safe about it. Thugs will never learn to play nice, so it's up to you to protect yourself and avoid being a crime statistic... Just my opinion?

There's no*****thing as a "smart" addict. The substances that they abuse keep them from making "smart" choices. Live for the drug means you die by the drug an or its consequences ......

Let the cops shoot first, ask questions second. That will slow down the drug, shootings and other crimes. Simple as that.

So ArticWoof, if the police think you or one of your family members are in the wrong place, or doing something wrong they should just shoot you. I like that. Again, such thinking is always okay until it effects you or somebody you love.

In spite of your self appointed know it all status Zenith others are allowed to voice opinions. None of these opinions are legislative actions you have to fear becoming law.

Citizens are injured & dying while out buying drugs. It's only reasonable, rational, and logical that these folks attempt to be smart & safe. Why you have a problem with that I'll never guess.

Unfortunately I don't have the spare time you have to dissect issues on this site from 7:am till midnight. So I leave an opinion when I can and get back to living not caring who agrees. I believe I'm beginning to see david1's point now...

Since you once ridiculed my words as so idiotic, I can't imagine why you donate moments of your life to reading & responding to them...

you mean the article that says nothing about drugs but that is what everyone here is talking about? you mean the article where a commenter said people need to start using better choices when picking someone to get their drugs from? that article? maybe the article where a commenter named WARRENPROUD talks about how unproud he is of the stinkhole he says this city is? that article?

all stupid comments, but im the troll?

I've commented on articles like this one for awhile now. there are more of these stories than ever.

its debt dude. we are getting poorer. and when people lose everything and they got nothing else to lose...some lose it and will kill over 35$. as we become poorer the crime rate will go up.

this is a symptom of a society in debt. period.

but....maybe the guy just used a lower scaled drug dealer? thats probably it.
