Yet, Current history shows that it's contagious and overlooked on a wide scale. Hopefully your diocese is in the clear but don't hold your breathe as, it could end up being fatal ........

Statute of limitations should not apply. I bet several people within the Catholic Church are relieved it does.

MRRJytown: If teachers, coaches, and parents did not know or awknowledge what was going on, how was Mr. Gillen to know? The student athletes kept it to themselves because of shame. The Youngstown Warren area was old school culture back then where Catholics never challenged the clergy. So putting the blame on Mr. Gillen's shoulders is just plain wrong.

The bishop is trying to avoid taking responsibility for this clergy member. Just because he didn't sign Baker's paycheck, does not mean that he is not responsible. In fact, according to canon law, the bishop is responsible for every religious organization within his territory. He has to allow them in, and he can kick them out.

We urge anyone who may have knowledge or may have been harmed by any Baker or employee, clergy, teacher, etc within the Youngstown diocese, to please contact law enforcement, not the church officials. Victim's voices deserve to be heard and children deserve to be safe..!

My advice to any student at JFK who is or has been abused to definately go to the police and not anyone affiliated with the school. The school officials when told go into a cover up and make it go away mode. The kids that are brave enough to tell get shut down with shame and intimidation.

@american patriot,I agree with you that some are very relieved about the statute of limitations.I hope they are still squirming in their pants worrying if their name will come up....
