January 15, 2013

Is there something in the water in this area that makes people continue to elect public officials whose transgressions range from the inept to the criminal? Let’s visit a few ghosts of politicians......

Republican lemmings: The GOP has No one to run against him...

Move to geauga county if your republican... they have the same problem.. only 1 democrat in office and that's the sheriff..

so this yoder brings up something from 20 years ago...interesting..

Guess she has no faith in our justice system.. as he was NOT GUILTY of anything this aug.....only of walking the street at 2 Am in the morning after attending a wedding reception.. such a bad thing to do.. guess he can carry that for the next 20 years..

Still would like to KNOW just who's job is it to report on a politician who commits an error in judgement when he is in another state???????? now could he have taken a drink earlier and mixed some vicoden with it.. taken to much medication the man was sober enough to remember what he learned in law school; dont take the breathalyzer no matter what... before the new law in ohio the only smart thing to do was NOT take the Breath test......take it and your goose was cooked...

A GREAT ARTICLE - WHY DO WE KEEP THESE PEOPLE IN OFFICE - ELECTION AFTER ELECTION. THEN WE CRY WHEN THEY ARE EXPOSED BUT DOES ANYTHING EVER HAPPEN? NO, THEY GET REELECTED! THIS IS SO SAD AND WE WILL ALL LIVE TO SEE THE RESULTS OF ELECTING BAD PEOPLE TO REPRESENT US IN GOVERNMENT.

A lot of problems could be solved if we work hard to get a few Republicans in the Government. These current office holders get no second opinions about things they do. No checks and balances. They do what the want and look where we are. The Commissioners are responsible for the Board of Health. Look at that mess especially the sewer debacle. Look at Childrens Services. They fall under the Commissoners too. The Commissioners are incompetant. Let's start there to improve our Government. It would be nice to see some candidates come forward.

Corruption in politics is a local phenomenon? And to be fair, we should uphold high moral standards locally, not because the regional politics embrace a party you disagree with...but because it'll fix our problems.

Or is America becoming dumber precisely because we are more deeply entrenched in our partisan worship? We choose to overlook corruption in our own party because we see the other party as "evil" or as "the root cause" of America's ills. This isn't analysis it's witchcraft.

Back in the 70's fraternization bewteen republicans and democrats was the norm! It's taken quite a concerted effort to ruin this.

Bias test: ask yourself if accountability over a politicians' drinking problem was a concern to you when Dick Cheney shot his friend in the face while hunting (drunk) and went into hiding for a day? Or when George W Bush's driving record disappeared?

Accountability must be bipartisan at the local, state, and national level.

We are looking for candidates. Go to GOP HQ at the Mall down License Bureau corridor. Perhaps you can help with our recruiting effort. Now is the time while you are passionate.

Believe you me, the corrupt thinking goes a lot deeper into the pot than these examples.

I've always said . . . regarding Trumbull politics that if there's a right(legal) way and a "less", than right(marginally legal), way to do things, you can bet how things will get done.

I blame it on long-term one-party politics.

With two party politics, we at least have a sordid sort of checks & balances.

With our one party politics, elections mean little and elected officials pretty much operate in noncompliance to applicable laws in a wink & nod environment.

At last someone else who sees Scumbag Tim for who he is. The GOP needs to run stronger people against him. Hope they are looking for a replacement now.
