I am not a Republican and I am highly offended you would call me such a nasty name!

Not quite sure why you think my comment was directed strictly towards you in particular. And no, fishing does not mean you are trying to prepare for catastrophe but knowing how to fish is a valuable tool in the event of something major happening. Like an economic crash or zombies. Geez oh pete. Lighten up a little bit!

I already know how to fish triumph! What a stupid remark! So every time someone go fishing they are preparing for Armageddon? Fishing is a sport and hobby. I don't expect ANY republican to share! They are the most selfish people alive. Trust me, I'm fine without your stuff.

Right on Triumph. Some of these people amaze me, if they can not buy it, microwave it, or have it deliverd, they will not know how to eat. I grew up growing a garden, canning food, hunting meat and raising chickens for eggs and meat. When these folks are paying top dollar for food someday, I will not be hungry, or spending most of my paycheck to eat.

What are you people going to do when things get really bad and you can't afford to buy groceries or groceries are not readily available anymore? You think a catastrophe is not a possibility? It's nice to know how to catch a fish, hunt a deer, grow a veggie. Go ahead, make your trips to the Giant Eagle. But when it all falls apart, I ain't sharin' my grub with ya! You're gonna have to learn to help yourselves.

I just don't understand all the negative in this area. If somebody don't do something than anybody that does is stupid. Maybe that in itself has something to do with the obesity in our society.

Once again, people who don't understand why a person ice fishes, or maybe even fishes at all, ridicules and demeans those who enjoy the sport of it. It has more to do with catching than eating them. Many fishermen throw them back in.

Not only do they endanger their own lives, but the lives of those who have to rescue them....not to mention the cost.

They should be required to pay the bill when they need to be rescued.

How selfish.

This is when the really big ones start biting otherwise they never bit in their entire lives! I believe a dream at night and a visit to fish counter the next morning would be sufficient for me ........

Accident waiting to happen. In these days and times with technology and innovation. I'd rather go to Giant Eagle and shop for fish. I don't have to get up as early, put my life at risk by trusting ice to hold my weight and I don't have to stand outside in the cold. I NEVER understood that mentality when a person lives in a city or suburb.

Daniel, it's not a matter of needing a fish that badly. It's a matter of doing something you enjoy.

It can't possibly be that frozen. If it is, it won't be for long, as the tempatures are you going to be high this week.
