The NRA has an answer for everything. The NRA is run by a bunch of fools at the top. Ever listen to LaPierre speak?

Why would someone write a letter that is completely empty? Free Speech is a wonderful thing, it allows the mentally challenged to write any thing that pops up in their little brain.

Warrenproud,

Have you forgotten that China has been insisting for years that the United States disarm its citizens in the interest of "Fairness"? The most recent demand was 19 Dec 2011.

We have a gov't that borrows $.40 of every $ it spends. And who is our biggest banker? Bingo, Communist China.

The President has repeatedly stated that he will not cut spending because there is nothing in the budget that can be cut. Eventually, China will demand that guns be outlawed as a condition of continued loans (if they haven't already).

What do YOU think will happen? Cut off the Obamaphones, scale back Obamacare, cut off disability for alcoholism, drug addiction, or just being too lazy to learn to read? Cut off the windmills, solar panels and electric cars? Cut the crony capitalist special deals for GE, the Banks and Friends of Obama? OR cooperate with the Communist Bankers?

A disarmed populace is easy to conquer, and China may one day invade to get back its collateral.

Thomas, Why don't you ask the three cities with the toughest gun laws in the nation and ask them how its working out for them. Detroit, Chicago, Wash. DC. Highest crime rates in the nation.

Then, go ask cities where concealed carry is encouraged and crime in just about non existent.

Then you can come back here and whine about your anti American views. (yes, your against the constitution, then your anti American.)

I'm sitting here as I type with a loaded firearm on my hip. If someone comes a knockn', friend or foe, I will respond accordingly.

I suggest people carry their sidearms at all times on their person. If you don't have it when needed then the above story can happen to you too.

The second amendment was created for a reason by our founding fathers. These Washington politicians had better well respect it.

what i want to know is how are we as people suppose to teach our children and younger generations in this country the dangers of guns and vilence not being a solution to their problems, when our own govt uses bombs guns and violence thru wars to solve its problems?

Perhaps if the home owner had answered the door with weapon in hand, this home invasion could have been avoided.

We all sure hope that it has not yet come to that.

Staying closer to home, perhaps Thomas would demand an explanation from the Girard police on how this home invasion could happen in their town.

Or, perhaps Thomas could demand an explanation from the parents of the home invaders as to how they failed to properly raise their children to respect other's property.

Doubt that Thomas would hold the invaders responsible for their own actions.

But this thinly veiled attack on the NRA by this wannabe gun grabber says a lot about the mentality of those wanting to solve individual failure to conform with removal of rights from the law abiders.

Although you did not post a photo of yourself in this writing, I will always picture you as the south end of a horse headed due north.

eyes, as a fellow gun owner and supporter of the NRA, I have to wonder...where do you live that necessitates your having a gun on your hip as you sit at your PC? Are things that bad in (Warren)?

There are police officers that go their whole career and never fire their gun at anyone and they are out looking for trouble. If all of you want to live in fear of your neighbors and government don't drag me down into your miserable lives.

@ Afret, I look at it like this. Crime takes place in all areas against all walks of life. I have been around guns most of my life, competitive shooting, hunting and being in the military. It is second nature to me and to carry even while in the relative safety and comfort of home I realize that at any time day or night someone could breach my space.

I'm not paranoid, I'm prepared. It only takes seconds to kick a door in or enter through a window. If I have to run to grab my weapon it may be too late.

I live in what would be considered a safe area of Warren but even if I lived in Cortland/Howland/Poland/Canfield or any other locality with a relatively low crime rate, I would still carry at all times.

I can defend myself with many types of guns. I surely don't need an AR 15. Gun control is not banning all guns, just the ones that aren't needed and cause multiple tragedies nationwide/worldwide.

nothirdterm...you try to take law abiding American's guns off of them, i dont care what kind they are, you are asking for a very messy problem.

you can stay with your little gun, that is just fine. however, dont tell the tens of millions of other americans who have guns bigger than yours to hand em over. it will get ugly real quick.

understand?

Time to alter the 2nd Amendment and outlaw all these ridiculous guns.

They're useless as defensive weapons anyway. Any trained security guard knows that a gun is USELESS as a defense weapon unless it is loaded and drawn, in hand, ready for action.

Why do you think the Brinks guards have their peeeees-toe-lays out in their hands as they transfer money? Because the guns are USELESS unless they are IN HAND!

2nd Amendment? Crock of bull! Out-dated, anachronistic (as well as misread anyway), and needs to go the way of the rest of the contents of the dust-bin of history.

Repeal and replace the 2nd Amendment -- that's the only thing that can save us.
