BASEBALL

• SOUTH RANGE 20, LEETONIA 1: NORTH LIMA — South Range scored 10 runs in the first inning, cruising to victory past Leetonia.

Gavin Snyder was the winning pitcher, striking out four and giving up only four hits. He also added two hits offensively. Also from the plate for the Raiders, Steve Bensinger had two RBIs and Joel Melnick had 3. South Range improves to 7-12 on the season.



SOFTBALL

• CARDINAL MOONEY 14, EAST PALESTINE 1: EAST PALESTINE — Christina Hrehor had five RBIs, two home runs and a single as the Cardinals beat the host Bulldogs.

Kelcie Herberger earned the victory for Mooney (15-4), while Emily Stewart took the loss for East Palestine (5-11).

Mooney will play Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at Boardman’s Fields of Dreams. Monday’s first pitch is at 4:30 p.m.
